The MOV file format itself does not dictate a specific level of compression, so it can vary widely based on the original source material and the settings chosen by the person creating the file. In general, MOV files can support a wide range of compression options, from high-quality, lightly compressed files suitable for professional video editing, to heavily compressed files suitable for web streaming or sharing online. **

The MOV file may not be played due to several reasons. It could be because the media player does not support the MOV file format, or the file may be corrupted. To resolve this issue, try using a different media player, repairing the file, installing the necessary codec, or moving the file to a different location with appropriate access permissions. **
